Abstract
The use of the orthopantomograph to demonstrate the temporomandibular joint is described. Three projections are obtainable. The conventional orthopantomogram is obtained in the oblique projection with the patient's mouth closed and the jaws in occlusion. The anteroposterior and lateral projections are obtained by eccentric placement of the patient's head within the apparatus. Such views are valuable in demonstration of disease or fracture of the temporomandibular joints and occlusion of the dental arches.
