Abstract

Background and Aim: Semen analysis is of great importance in the evaluation and treatment of male reproductive pathology [1]. Semen analysis may be performed on fresh/unwashed or washed semen samples. The semen washing process eliminates undesirable cells and particles from a fresh specimen. Computer-Assisted Semen Analysis (CASA) systems have shown to work extremely well, particularly on washed debris-free semen samples [2]. However, analyzing fresh samples could be problematic, especially in the presence of non-sperm cells.
