Abstract

The article presents a method of centralised administration, users authorization, and monitoring and control of services in computer networks, and describes its implementation on UNIX workstations. This is achieved by the creation of a new service. The TCP/IP protocol the as de facto standard protocol for connecting systems in a heterogeneous environment was chosen as the service infrastructure. The implementation and testing issues are also considered.
