Abstract

This paper introduces a method and three indexes that could help evaluate the efficiency of city Electric Bus routes from different aspects, including the level of effective carrying capacity and overall operational cost. Most Electric Bus routes may see difficulty managing different vehicles’ charging and dispatching patterns and generate a large amount of wasted energy and human resources. Based on the case route in Hangzhou, China, and simulation conducted through calculation, showing this guidance and the indexes could enable people to spot the problem in operation and provide guidance for altering the charging-dispatching schedule to reduce approximately 20% of the operational inefficiency.
