Abstract

With the development of multicarrier wideband communication technology, the D/A converter frequency response distortion is becoming the critical problem for generating a wideband modulated signal. This paper proposed a method to design digital FIR filters for compensating the frequency response distortion resulting from D/A converters' zero order hold (ZOH). The FIR compensation filter is designed using the frequency sampling method. Following the proposed method, we can design different filters to compensate the corresponding Nyquist zone of D/A converter. Three FIR compensation filters are designed to compensate the ZOH's frequency response of the first Nyquist zone, the second Nyquist zone and the third Nyquist zone. The results of simulations and FPGA hardware implementations show the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
