Abstract

The method for solving the problem of determination of the values of the parameters resulting in stable arcing in a narrow gap by the methods of computer engineering analysis is discussed and theoretical relationships, connecting the welding parameters with the dimensions of the welded joint, are presented. The technological parameters of the process are determined by solving the inverse problem of modelling the formation of the weld pool under the effect of two welding arcs in a narrow gap during successive passes. The calculations of the parameters are confirmed by the experimental results of narrow-gap multipass welding.
