Abstract

In Parts 1 and 2, a new method for calculating pulsations in piping systems was proposed and the adequacy of the digital simulation was verified by a comparison with experimental data in a simple piping system as well as data obtained by field work. However, in the application of this calculation method to a plant design, it is often hard to obtain accurate data for the calculation of the compressor valve motion. In such cases, as some of the data is required to be estimated, this may affect the dynamics of the compressor valve motion and in torn, accurate pressure pulsations in the piping system may not be obtained. From this point of view, this report investigates the influence of the dynamics of the compressor valve motion on pressure pulsations.
