Abstract

The dichotomy between constructive and objective accounts of the epistemic process is a persistent problem. This paper describes the theory of reconstruction in quantum physics that may give a metaphor for the possible compatibility of constructivist and realist accounts. The argument works by analog reasoning and suggests that local subjective and global objective descriptions may converge.
