Abstract

Everolimus-eluting stents (EES) may be associated with a lower risk of stent thrombosis compared to bare-metal stents (BMS), but it remains unclear if the difference in stent thrombosis translates into differences in myocardial infarction or cardiac death. Accordingly, we compared EES to BMS in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in a meta-analysis.
