Abstract

Panicky back-pedalling on new safety standards caused engineers and machine builders headaches at the end of last year, and that's just the start of it, says Dr Martin Payn, Division & UK customer assurance manager of Parker SSD Drives Europe. The need to prevent dangerous failures means that any dawdling over standards uptake could have a catastrophic effect.
