Abstract

We discuss the phase diagram of QCD by analyzing the fluctuational properties of the gauge fields. Distributions are mesoscopic probes of the microscopic fluctuational dynamics, and, in turn, give information on the macroscopic, physics observables. We have computed them by means of chiral perturbation theory and simple models, and observed distinct features in different regions of the phase diagram.
