Funded in part by taxpayer dollars, Dell Medical School has a mandate to improve community health. It's also identifying novel ways to reward value.

  • When Austin at last gained its own medical school in 2014, some residents were concerned that the new Dell Medical School would become another “ivory tower,” disconnected from the marginalized communities it claimed to serve

  • There is certainly the risk that Dell Medical School could go the way of other health care “anchor” institutions that are located in underserved neighborhoods but don’t necessarily benefit the residents of those areas.[1]
