Abstract
Various thories for the conversion are considered. The role of internal electric fields can be seen by comparing the rates of experimentally observed conversion reactions for hydrogen in simple liquids. The magnetic field due to the proton magnetic moment is the same magnitude. The p-o conversion is shown to be caused by paramagnetic centers, but not in all cases.
