Abstract

In this paper eleven deviations in tilting rotary type tables were identified and newly defined. Then three mathematical models were developed to simulate the effects of these deviations. Among these deviations three deviations which relate to rotary table influence to the work when A-axis, and C-axis in motion. Other eight deviations influence to supporter axis. From simulation results of cumulative effect on supporter axis, it is understood that the supporter axis moves off centred path at Free State. That was verified by the deflection measurements of supporter axis in Y and Z directions. Furthermore, by the measurements of test bar on centre of rotary table, it is understood that the virtual vertical plane through axis of rotation moves on unpredictable path due to stress developed when fixing the supporter. By means of these results, a new measuring method is proposed for manufactures of rotary tables.
