Abstract
Abstract A measurement system of C n2 based on solar power device was developed and the performance of the system was given. The continuous measurement for 24 hours on the experimental spot was taken and the curves of C n2 at different heights on one spot were acquired. The results of the experiments show that the system of C n2 based on solar power device is effective and practical for the continuous measurement in the open aire especially in no electricity and unattended circumstances. Keywords: Atmospheric turbulence refractive index structure parameter, laser propagation, solar power 1. INTRODUCTION Atmospheric turbulence has very significant degrading effects on laser propagation [1] , such as scintillation of optical intensity, enlargement and wandering of optical beam and distortions of the wavefront. When laser propagating along horizontal path near the earth surface, these effects show mo re severely. In order to overcome these effects and improve optic beam transmission quality, it is very important to measure the atmospheric turbulence parameters, study the statistics of atmospheric turbulence and develop the adaptive optic correction of atmospheric turbulence effects along the propagation path. Atmospheric refractive index structure parameter, simply called C
