Abstract
Using data from 1993 and 1994, preliminary measurements of the tau leptonic branching fractions, τ → evv¯ and τ → uvv¯ are presented. The results yield the ratio g μ g e = 0.988 ± 0.007 between the muon and electron couplings to the weak charged current. Combined with previous DELPHI measurements the result g μ g e = 0.991 ± 0.006 is obtained.
