Abstract
We study theZ(2) spin-gauge system in four dimensions using the mean field expansion. We do calculations in both the temporal and the unitary gauges. The two calculations are in good agreement with each other over a large region of the phase diagram and the predicted diagram compares well with the diagram found by Monte Carlo simulation.
