Abstract
Arbitrary waveform generators are widely used to generate stimuli for under-testing devices, such as telecommunication system, magnetic storage devices and telemetry satellite. The arbitrary waveform generator introduced in this paper is implemented mainly to meet the needs of SLH(switched linear hybrid) power amplifier. It consists of a MCU, a keyboard, a LCD module, a PC interface, and a LPF(low pass filter). Waveforms are generated adopting DDS method. A program run on the PC creates digital representation of the desired waveform and sends it to MCU's RAM. MCU then converts the digital representation to sampling analog data. The data points are sent to LPF to generate various waveforms. In addition to the creation of traditional waveforms, it can also generate arbitrary waveforms. Laboratory measurements are presented in the paper.
