Abstract
John Weakland, Associate Director, Brief Therapy Institute, Palo Alto, graciously agreed to be interviewed on Columbus Day (a public holiday in the United States) at short notice, and despite the time constraints of his busy practice and the interviewer's being in San Francisco for only four days. It is hoped that the resulting interview does justice to John Weakland's profound influence on the field of family therapy since its beginnings.
