Abstract

Athough mathematics fairs have sometimes included exhibits by children as young as sixth graders, we arc not aware of any fair that has had a demonstration like “Bransfield's Supermarket” in grade 2, in which small-fry bought groceries and took turn as check-out clerk. Even grade 1 took part in the mathematics fa ir at the Tower School. It was an “all-hands operation,” by groups in grades 1 through 4A, and 72 exhibits in grades 4B through 9.
