Abstract
A modern rendészet kialakulása óta folyamatosan napirenden volt a rendészet egyetemi szintű oktatása, a rendészet, mint tudományág elismertetése. A rendészet jeles művelői megfogalmazták a rendészettudomány fogalmát, fő területeit, ugyanakkor a rendészettudomány akkreditációjára hazánkban csak 2012-ben került sor. Ennek folyamatát mutatja be a publikáció Karvasy Ágostontól a Rendészettudományi Doktori Iskola létrehozásáig. Kiemelve és megörökítve Szabó András gondolatait, aki 2003-ban a MTA elé tárta a rendészettudományi gondolatait és javaslatát a rendészettudomány elismerésére.
