Abstract

In this work, a novel coordination polymer (CP), [CdL(H2O)] (1) (H2L = 4-aminophthalic acid), was designed and successfully synthesized as a luminescent sensor for recognition of Ascorbic Acid (AA) based on luminescent quenching effect. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 featured a 4-connected uninodal three dimensional (3-D) network with the point (Schläfli) symbol of (42ˑ63ˑ8). Luminescent spectra demonstrate that the proposed sensing system showed an excellent performance with high Ksv value of 3.27 × 105 M-1 and low limit of detection (LOD) of 4.3 nM. In addition, the probable mechanisms are also investigated. The luminescent quenching behavior by AA can be mainly attributed to the static competitive absorption mechanism between CP sensor and analyte.
