Abstract

Abstract The correlation of the pair of lognormal random variables obtained by exponentiating a pair of bivariate normal variables provides a simple example of an asymmetrically bounded correlation coefficient for continuous variates. The example illustrates certain hazards in employing correlation coefficients as measures of association.
