Abstract

This paper proposes a novel low-profile MS feed UWB antenna on a large flat conductor. It is first time to reduce the distance between antenna and conductor by introducing slots in the conductor. The designed distance is 0.04 λwhich is a quarter of some existing results. Simulated results show the antenna has a bandwidth of 167.6% from 1.55 GHz to 17.6 GHz with S11 below -10 dB and the peak gain is large than 6 dBi during a frequency range of 2 GHz to 17 GHz.
