Abstract

Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) is a new air interface technology in 5G mobile communications and the serial message passing algorithm (MPA) is a multi-user detection algorithm in the uplink SCMA systems. The high complexity of MPA leads to high decoding delay in SCMA system, which is contrary to the low latency demand of next generation wireless communication systems. A dynamic factor graph-MPA (DFG- MPA) is proposed based on the continuously updated dynamic factor graph. This algorithm accelerates overall decoding convergence and reduces external information to decrease redundant iterations and overall decoding complexity as a result. Simulation results show that DFG-MPA could achieve significant reduction of decoding complexity with bit error rate (BER) performance maintained.
