The integration of digital twins (DT), the internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) has ushered in a revolutionary phase in the wind energy (WE) industry. The present chapter delves into the importance, aims, and consequences of this combination. It explores the basic elements of WE frameworks, the roadblocks they encounter, and the benefits of DT technology. The chapter explores the use of IoT technology in WE and integration of digital twins with both IoT and AI. It also discusses the creation of DTs for wind turbines and their simulation using AI algorithms. Additionally, the chapter investigates trends and developing technologies, including progressions in DT technology, significance of 5G and edge computing, and sustainable practices in renewable energy. These developments are projected to determine the future of the WE industry.
