Abstract

Two years lasting monitoring of 14C in liquid effluents of two nuclear power plants with pressurized water reactors was performed in the Czech Republic. Method of radiocarbon determination with ability to distinguish dissolved organic and inorganic forms was used. Analytical results were processed by a statistical model and contribution of 14C in liquid releases to total 14C release and to the human effective dose were estimated. A long-term monitoring confirmed a minor impact of 14C in form of liquid releases.
