Abstract

SummaryFactors are discussed which have to be taken into account in converting to monocyclic working in South Mengo forests with a rotation of about 70 years. A plan is described in which this would be achieved over a 40-year conversion felling cycle. Suggestions are made for control of exploitation during the conversion cycle and an account is given of proposed silvicultural treatments for the same period.
