Abstract

The new two-level logic minimizer, namely NEM, uses the tautology shrinkage method to generate prime implicants instead of the current implicant expansion procedure. Don't-care terms are exhausted without generating them explicitly. Following the heuristic approach and a new strategy, the algorithm has been found to be efficient and robust, especially in the case of large don't-care sets.
