Abstract

Target location is very important for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) real applications. In this paper, a method based on neighborhood recursion has been developed to determine the target location in a bistatic SAR (BSAR) image. Firstly, the estimates of the Doppler Centroid and bistatic range sum (BRS) of the reference target are produced by utilizing the characteristics of BSAR data collection geometry. Then the location of the reference target is obtained. After that, the locations of all targets in a BSAR image can be recursively calculated by using the nearby pixels' location relationship. This method is more efficient compared with the traditional methods in which the targets in the whole image are calculated by repeating the same steps as for the reference target. The simulation results validate the efficacy and efficiency of this BSAR location method.
