Abstract

This research paper presents a novel technique for improving load-shedding in DC microgrids by incorporating a binary number generator (BNG). Load shedding, a controlled strategy utilized to maintain equilibrium between power supply and demand within a microgrid when the aggregate demand surpasses generated power, is widely employed. Nevertheless, conventional load-shedding methods frequently encounter challenges, notably over-shedding and voltage deviations, particularly in scenarios involving numerous controllable loads. To overcome these challenges, an enhanced algorithm is proposed, which integrates the BNG technique. Simulation results conclusively demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in ensuring microgrid stability during periods of supply-demand imbalances.
