Abstract
This paper presents a survey of recent advances in the solution of combined economic emission dispatch. Thermal generators produce gaseous pollutants such as CO 2 , SO 2 , NOx and CO which contribute to global warming and thus need to be controlled. The classical economic dispatch problem has therefore evolved into Environmental Economic Load Dispatch, Economic Emission Dispatch or Combined Economic Emission dispatch (CEED) problem. The paper presents an exhaustive analysis of the use of varied forms of optimization strategies to provide solution to CEED problems. It aims at providing a broad perspective on CEED techniques to researchers and application engineers.
