Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to provide a systematic review of literature pertaining to innovation activity within the hotel sector. Owing to the importance hotel sectors plays in the tourism industry, the features of hotels’ innovation activity are of utmost importance for the whole tourism economy. However, due to the complexity of (service) innovation operational definition and consequently its measurement, research on this subject is still not mature. The paper reviews and systematizes the existing empirical studies on hotel innovation and provides suggestions for further research.
