Abstract
Shilajit is a herbomineral medication that is blackish brown in colour. Shilajit is referred to in classical sources as Maharasa. Mineral Pitch/Black Bitumen is another name for it. Shilajit is a sticky exudate that oozes off rocks in the Himalayan region and other high altitude places during the summer months. Shilajit has been utilised as a rejuvenator and anti-aging ingredient for ages. Shilajit is the greatest Rasayana according to Ayurveda. Shilajit is an important Ayurvedic medication used to treat a variety of ailments. This paper documented all of Shilajit's available information in various Rasa Shastra literature.
