Abstract

The effective analyzing power of the neutron polarimeter described in the previous article 1) is calculated by numerical integration. Also presented is a detailed study of double scattering within the cryostat. The dependence of double scattering upon detector angle, size of cryostat, and incident neutron energy is obtained. It is found that the correction for double scatter is more important than that for finite geometry. With minor modifications, the computer code written for the calculation can be adapted to other polarimeters.
