Abstract

Liquid crystal polarization grating (LCPG) is a new type of grating device based on geometric phase principle which has electro-optic tunability and polarization tunability. In this paper, a multi-channel programmable LCPG driver is designed for the cascaded LCPG components. The programmable beam direction of the beam scanning component based on the LCPG is realized by adjusting the driving voltage at both ends of each monolithic LCPG. The driver voltage adjustment range is 0Vpp-38Vpp, and the voltage resolution is 0.0195V. Taking the 3-piece cascaded LCPG beam scanning system as an example for the driver performance test. The results show that the driver designed in this paper has good driving performance for the cascaded LCPG.
