Abstract

The 2D/1D transport method has already become the most popular direct transport method these several years considering the balance of efficiency and accuracy. Linear source scheme has been researched and applied in method of characteristics (MOC), which shows great advantages in efficiency and accuracy compared to the traditional flat source approximation. Therefore, to improve the calculation performance of the 2D/1D method further, the linear source scheme is applied in the 2D/1D method with a newly-developed direct transport code SHARK. The equation derivation is conducted and the framework of the linear source scheme in SHARK is introduced. Two macro cases, including C5G7 benchmark and macro BEAVRS benchmark, are adopted to show the performance improvement of the linear source scheme in the 2D/1D method.
