Abstract
A line scanning method can produce NMR images demonstrating anatomical detail in live subjects. A strong contrast between the various tissues arises from the large differences in mobile spin concentration between e.g. bone and bone marrow, or flexor tendon and its fibrous sheath. The line scan technique is applied to an anatomy study of a dead rat hind leg and considerable detail is obtained using a colour display. The results are presented and discussed.
