Abstract
Aims: We present an alternative to acrylic occlusal wafer for use in orthognathic surgery. We describe a simple method of fabrication for a light-cured customized orthognathic wafer, to use during all types of orthognathic surgery. Materials and methods: A 0.5mm polycarbonate blank was used, which was vacuum formed over duplicate upper and lower study models. These were trimmed to about 1–2mm under the orthodontic brackets. These were then bonded in the exact relationship using the Triad light-cured system.
