Abstract
Dr. IT Jackson was a world leader in the field of Cleft and Craniofacial surgery. He played a pivotal role in the development of plastic surgery as a specialty in India. He featured in the Indian Plastic Surgeons meetings and conferences of Indian Society of Cleft Lip Palate and Craniofacial Surgery very often and became an integral part of these societies. India was very close to his heart. He allowed Indian plastic surgeons to visit his craniofacial institute to learn the nuances of craniofacial surgery. Many of us still practice the procedures popularised by him.Personal contact with Dr. Jackson was an enviable association. It was a boon for anyone who came in contact with him. He was my mentor as I spent 6 months with him. I have fond memories of his personal care and mentorship not only in the field of plastic surgery but also in general patient care and communication skills. His memory is engraved in our heart. This is an opportunity to pay our respect to the departed holy soul.
