Abstract

Both the West Coast magazine Frontier , and the magazine Liberation , in their January, 1963, issues published a piece entitled What Price for Peace? by our good friend W.H. Ferry of the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions in Santa Barbara. Before the text was published, Mr. Ferry sent copies to a number of people, including ourselves and Professor Paul Baran of the Stanford University Economics Department. A multilateral correspondence developed, in the course of which Professor Baran wrote the following letter to Mr. Ferry, sending a copy to us. It seemed to us to raise issues which no worker for peace can afford to neglect.
