Abstract

ABSTRACTThe court of inquiry into the collision between the submarine Greeneville and the motor vessel Ehime Maru focused on human performance and functioning of equipment at the time of the accident. This commentary addresses whether alternative equipment, particularly equipment addressing communication and interpretation issues, would have made a difference. It also looks at whether generalized equipment of this nature would be of benefit in other hi‐tempo scenarios that could be anticipated in the future.
