Abstract

Introduction: Psychiatric reform in Italy is the result of a great movement in the first place and then sociocultural political group that spontaneously broke outraged by the degradation of structures manicomiais. Objective: To analyze reflexively history of psychiatric legislation and psychiatric reform in the city of Turin, Italy. Methods: We conducted an analysis of the implementation of the territorial services of psychosocial care of the Department of Mental Health created the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery San Luigi Gonzaga. Results: promote and coordinate prevention, care and rehabilitation in Mental Health. Must have a well-defined scope, comprising an area of 100,000 and 200,000 inhabitants, ensuring all actions, including emergency. Must rely on a multidisciplinary team - with at least one professional responsible for every 1,500 inhabitants, composed of psychiatrists, nurses and nursing, psychiatric rehabilitation therapists, educators, social workers, aides and administrative staff, have a clinic, hospital beds, residential accommodation and semirresidencial. The first intervention happens then to the request of the family physician indicating psychological or psychiatric visit. A multidisciplinary team performs a screening in order to assess the gravity of the situation psychopathological and therapeutic interventions necessary for rehabilitation. Moreover, writes the Individual Therapeutic Project (ITP) in order to determine treatment, medication and rehabilitation route / orientation of the patient, taking into account your personal needs and health. Conclusion: improving the quality of treatment is achieved through an integrated approach of pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, psychoeducation and rehabilitation undertaken in territorial services and, above all, the belief that all mental illness can have the benefit of treatment and assistance.
