Abstract
A design method for discrete model reference adaptive control (MRAC) systems according to the second method of Lyapunov is presented. The design is based on a recent “least-squares like gradient” method, which is derived from a stability point of view. In the MRAC system direct and indirect compensation of the plant parameters is discussed and it is demonstrated that the latter (via a feedback law) strongly influences the system stability.
