Abstract

Question: A 54-year-old man with previous history of hypertension was advised to undergo colonoscopy as part of a routine physical examination. The results of endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography revealed a mucosal bulge with a smooth surface (Figure A, arrow) in the rectum; the main body of the extrinsic-growth tumor was localized to the outside of the rectal wall (Figure A, B). The patient denied other associated symptoms, including fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, difficulty defecating, or weight loss.
