Abstract
ABSTRACT We present a knowledge—based multiobjective project scheduling system which handles a class of nonpreemptive scheduling problems characterized by (i) renewable, nonrenewable and doubly—constrained resources of many types, (ii) multiple performing modes of tasks and (iii) multiple project performance measures. Knowledge concerning different aspects of technology, resources and schedules is stored in several knowledge sources which are separated and communicate through a blackboard. The knowledge is represented by production rules and frames. Rules operate on objects (represented by frames) which instances are stored in the blackboard.
