Abstract

Total degradation of 4-chlorobiphenyl (4-CBP) by a mixed culture of Arthrobacter and Pseudomonas strains was investigated. β-Cyclodextrin was used to stabilize the emulsion, which greatly enhanced the rate of total degradation of 4-CBP. A two-step culture of the bacterial strains increased rates of total degradation of 4-CBP.
