Abstract

This study is an investigation of the leaching kinetics of an iron-activated bulk sulfide concentrate. The effects of (a) temperature ranging from 70 to 95°C, (b) ferric chloride concentration ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 M and (c) hydrochloric acid concentration ranging from 0.6 to 2 M on copper and zinc dissolution are reported. For every stage of dissolution the rate controlling process has been investigated and the activation energy has been calculated.
