Abstract

Time synchronization in the intelligent lighting control system is essential to ensure the correct data collection time and the accurate transmission of the control commands. NTP clients on the remote management device and the center control device are proposed for the intelligent lighting control system in this paper. Different from most current NTP clients, time synchronization in the proposed NTP clients mainly depended on synchronous records. The ARMA prediction model was established based on the synchronous records. By the prediction model, the NTP client on the remote management application in the lighting control system can calculate its local time based on the prediction instead of frequent NTP calculation. Similarly, the NTP client on the center control application in the lighting control system can stop communication with the NTP servers with large error based on the prediction model.
