Abstract

This paper proposed aKa-band 6-bit digital passive phase shifter with attenuation compensation structure realized by 55nm CMOS process. Based on the requirements of different phase-shifting amplitudes, three different structures of high-Iow-pass phase-shifting networks are used, which are: T -type, π-type and switching type. In view of the unique defects caused by the cascade of different types of phase shifters, that is, the attenuation is different in different phase shifting states. This paper qualitatively analyzes the factors that affect the additional attenuation of phase shifting, and adopts the method of coherent synchronization and coordination attenuation compensation network to solve the problem of excessive attenuation fluctuation under high phase shift. The simulation results show that in the range of 32–38 GHz, the RMS phase shift error is less than 3.2°, the additional attenuation is less than ±ldB. The input and output return losses are both below 13.5dB in the entire frequency range and the insertion loss is less than 21.5dB.
